Humans can modify the environment, too. They might clear a forest to build houses, and build a road to make a travel route.
Humans also depend o the environment, They will rely on rivers for transportation and water, and they will rely on forests for lumber.

When people interact, they move. Humans are social people, and so we like to be around one another. We will move to populated areas so we can interact with others.

Ideas can move, too. If someone in Japan starts a fashion trend, the idea will move across the world until it reaches Americans. this can happen by word of mouth, the Internet, and newspapers and other periodicals.

A formal boundary is defined by the government. the boundary between Montana and Idaho is a formal boundary. These boundarys are not fought over, as they have been agreed upon beforehand.
A functional boundary is a boundary created by a function or service in that area. This could include the area in which an airline flies, or a restaurant delivers.
A vernacular boundary is created mostly in people's perception. This could include the boundary of the southern states and northern states in America.
