Absolute location is like longitude and latitude.
They are where a point is exactly.
Relative location is like saying Montana is south
of Canada. It is describing where one place is with
another place

The human characteristics of a place are what people do,
look like, and believe in. It is basically culture.
Physical characteristics of a place are what the place
looks like.For example if it is hilly, cold, warm, flat, big,
or small.

Humans Adapt to the Environment
ex: The Smiths move to Africa from Greenland. They need to
get ride of the winter coats, and buy shorts and t-shirts.

Humans Modify the Environment
ex: The Smiths decide to take down all the trees on there land,
and replace them with bushes.

Humans Depend on the Environment
ex: The Smiths are farmers so they depend on the environment
to give them rain.
People are a big part of a place, most the things people want to
see are man made.
Goods are a small but useful part of a place, such as some
people go to Hawaii to try the great pineapple.
Ideas are probably the biggest part of a place because everything
starts as an idea. Like Disneyworld was an idea made by Walt
Disney.

Formal regions are the part of a region that are occupied by the
Government.
Functional regions are the part of the region occupied by places
such as airports.
Vernacular regions are the parts of a place that don't really have
a particular region.
