Hens

For Orwell the hens symbolized the peasant farmers who Stalin tried collectivize. In chapter seven Napoleon tried to take the hens eggs. The hens tried to resist at first but nine died and they gave in. The peasant farmers also tried to resist.

For me the hens represent the kind of people who will resist authority and question it.the people who will stand up to the authority like protesters.

Dogs
external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSnMy_pV0qzO54nCk_mKLlVLRTiOiPp9iboGzWwZMRy39aIsPhsZeeTpHQyGQ
For Orwell the dogs represent the military because they are trained to enforce the laws that the leaders make.
external image biden-inspects-russian-military-500x347.jpg
For me the dogs represent the Lewistown basketball team, the eagles, because they do whatever there coach tells them to and they are mean.

Drinking alcohol
external image bottle-of-wine.jpg
For Orwell drinking alcohol symbolizes the Old Russia because that is how Jones lost control over the farm. It mostly symbolizes a corrupt government.
external image 6883422-corruption-in-the-government-in-a-corrupt-system.jpg
For me the drinking of alcohol could symbolize a ball hog on a team because because one ball hog could ruin the whole team.

The battle of the windmill
external image graphics%5Cwindmill.jpg
For Orwell The battle of the windmill represented the battle of Stalingrad- German invasion of Russia during Word War ll.

For me The battle of the windmill could represent cheating because some think its a win because you accomplished your goal, but others would say it is a loss because it was not the right way just like Boxer didnt like the way they won the battle of the windmill because he killed somone.

Animal farm
For Orwell The book animal farm represents the Russian Revolution and about how he believes that every society will eventually turn into two classes, the powerful and the working class, because of people that are power hungry.
For me Animal farm

1.The animals are behaving like animals in ways like they live on a farm, lay eggs, and do things for humans. They are not behaving like animals because they are talking, having a meeting in the barn, and they are plotting to take over the human world. they also read, write, and sing.
2.Old Majors speech was about how they got treated unfairly, had to give up their children, were only fed enough to stay alive, and lived a short life because the humans were unfair. the impact it left on the other animals was big. it made them start to realize that human was the enemy and how they should rule. it also made them imagine a life without humans.
3.Old major says that because in his opinion all humans treat all animals unfairly. This assumption means that he thinks all animals should be enemies with all men.
4.The animals were so easily led because they were kind of desperate and were willing to do anything for a better life. They also knew that the pigs were the smartest and most respected.
5.The ribbons are a badge of slavery because it is a sign that a human did it and they want no evidence or creations from the humans. they think it signifies that a human owns them.
6.I think that the animals love the effects of the rebellion so far because it has made them free and they can eat and work as much as they want. they were surprised at first.
7.The thing that is implied about about mankind is everything the did, everything they lived by, and their whole lifestyle was wrong and unfair.
8.Marxism and Animalism both have to do with going from a dictatorship to a world where everyone is treated fairly.
9.The farm could have been a perfect place for a Utopian community because everyone was treated equally and and everyone was happy.

1.the farm is becoming more like a civilized society because they are learning to read and write. They also have certain ways of doing things now.
2.The flag is a tablecloth. It was green for the green fields of England and there was a hoof and horn to signify the republic of when the animals finally overthrew the humans.
3.Napoleon and Snowball have been arguing and debating against the others opinion.
4.Four legs good two legs bad is a good propaganda technique because it is catchy, simple, and everyone agrees with it.
5.The pigs set themselves up to be the elite by directing instead of working and using the milk and apples for their own nutrition.
6.Squealer part in brainwashing is the one that is delivering a message in a way that twists the truth so the others think its best for them.
7.The battle of the cowshed was to keep their independance and farm the way it was, where as the rebellion was the thing that started the animal farm.
8.Snowball was proud and satisfied with what they had accomplished when she got the medal. Boxer was dissapointed in himself for killing.
9.This is ironic because the pigs have become like the humans in some ways

1.Mollie is rejected because she is found interacting with humans and using human inventions like bows.
2.Snowball wanted a windmill and Napoleon opposed, then before the final decisions Napoleon had the trained puppies chase Snowball off the farm. After that hehe lied and tells the animals Snowball is a thief. He builds the windmill anyways.
3.They are the same because they both had the leaders sleep in beds, they both has the dogs trained to do what they want, and they both have an obvious leader who is unfair. They are different because Animal farm has commandments, in Animal farm the animals are happy, and in Animal farm they have different working methods.
4.Now to the pigs obediance and loyalty is more important because they want the animals to follow their instruction. Freedom used to be the whole idea of the Animal farm and now it is becomeing a dictatorship again. Now Napoleon says Snowballs bravery is less important than being loyal.
5.Squealer is constantly telling them that if they dont do it Jones will come back or saying that, that was never said you thought it up on your own. I would say this is Propaganda because he is saying this so they will go along with Napoleon.
6.Boxers represent the working class so his motto fits him because he i always workilng to do better and always needs to work harder.
7.Napoleon says that it was originally his idea and the drawings were copied from some of Napoleons papers.
8.He changed the law once because he slept in a bed which was against the fourth commandment, bu he twisted the words and said that the fourth commandment states that you cant sleep with sheets. The animals except them because they dont want Jones to come back and Squealer is so good at convincing them.

1.He makes it seem fine because he fills up the buckets with sand and covers it with food to make it look like they have good harvests.
2.Napoleon wants there eggs and they refuse so Napoleon cuts off their rations and nine of them starve and the rest gave in.
3.When something goes wrong Snowball is blamed and animals are executed if they interacted with him.
4.He does this so the other animals wont do anything with Snowball or against the farm. It shows them that he has full power.
5.She sings this because it substitutes the words the can't express. This reveals that she is aware that this isn't right.
6.He says its because it is the song of the rebellion which is now over. The true reason is that he is afraid the animals will rebel against him.
7.He is changing the laws and saying that they were like that all along, he had no reason to kill the animals and made something up, he lied about trusting the humans, and he lies about Snowball.
8.The poem talks about how great Napoleon which gives him a better image.
9.Both the cow shed and the windmill were to defend the farm, but in the battle of the windmill what happened could be considered defeat.

1.The stated purpose was that it was to celebrate the struggles and triumphes of animal farm. It was really so that Napoleon could hear more good things about himself.
2.I dont know what the point of letting Moses return and stay on the farm.
3.Boxer is admired because he is a hard worker. They are led to believe that Boxer is sent to a vet. He is really sent to be slaughtered. Squealer said that the vet bought the slaughterhouse company and have not gotten a chance to paint the vans.
4.The knacker represents...
5.The two classes are the woring class and the leaders because te pigs took over. they formed gradually as the pigs shaped more and more things so that they fit their needs.

1.They weren't encouraged to run away because it was a place that you go after you die. Another reason could be that they were to busy building the windmill. The third reason is that napoleon convinced them animal farm was better.
2. The song is all about the rebellion. It is about how they will rebel against humans. I think the purpose it served was to keep the animals confident and upbeat.
3.Their resentment vanished because they were kind of brainwashed to think that Animal Farm is always better. The were also so used to being happy and free that they didn't notice the gradual changes.
4.Napoleon was against it just because it was Snowballs idea. He changed his mind because he actually thought it was a good idea, but didn't think about it until Snowball was gone.
5.The dogs chased Snowball off the farm because Napoleon trained them to follow his orders. The other animals didn't help because they were really shocked. Another reason could be that they were scared of the dogs.
6.When Squealer said that it made the animals think that Napoleon is always right. It made them think that they need Napoleon to run the farm smoothly.
7.I think that if they are the only ones who know they should make the decisions because they know the situation. I think the leaders should share all information unless its top secret.
8.Well the animals remembered that there was a rule where you cant sleep in beds. Squealer convinced them that the rule was no bed with sheets.
9.No one complained because they were afraid of the dogs. They also thought Jones would come back.
10.Napoleon knew that Snowball did it because of the pig tracks. He also smelt him.
11.She thinks things are better than when Jones was around because she is still kind of brainwashed by the pigs. They think they are in a democracy.
12.Boxer works so hard because he thinks it is for the best. He is very convinced that Napoleon is always right.
13.This book says that it is impossible for a Utopia. The things that represented a perfect society is Orwell's speech and Beasts of England.
