5 Themes of Geography
Movement
People, Goods, Ideas, Inventions.; ideas cause more evolution through goods and products. An example would be fashions. People come up with more clothes lines and they keep moving and getting replaced by other fashion ideas.
Region
Formal, Functional, and Vernacular regions.; Formal regions have govermental boundaries. U.S. states fall under this category because they all have boundaries or borders. Functional regions are regions that work by the function. An example would be if a region was run by a factory, and that factory was closed, that region would close with it. Vernacular regions...
Place
Human and physical characteristics.; Physical characteristics are nature made like streams, lakes, and trees. Human characteristic are man made objects like schools, clocks, and cars.
Location
Relative and absolute location.; An absolute location is the exact location like latitude or longitude. A relative location is a location described by how long are far it is from another place.
Human-environmental
interactions
Humans can adapt, modify, and depend on the environment.; Examples would be people depend on the river to give us water. People modify the environment by putting roads and buildings on land. People adapt to the environment by wearing clothing to match the weather.
