Our Perfect Classroom is: Art

In our perfect classroom, there are three concepts and three topics that are addressed. The first one is clay and how it sculpts our lives and how paint adds color to our lives. Another one is that the teacher, Ms. Birdwhistle will have a hat with various topics in it and the students will pull one out of the hat (like tree or teacup) and they will make a type of art for it. The students will also research their favorite artist that they will research and make a piece of art using that artist's style. One of our topics is What Inspires You? Where students tell the things that inspire their art. They will also do an art history unit that the students learn how art has been used through the ages for people to express themselves

Concepts
  • Painting and Clay
  • Put ideas in a hat and have students make a piece of art on that topic, such as if a student drew tree, they would paint a picture of a tree
  • Students chose an artist and research them and that artist's style of art. They then use that style of art to create their own piece using the same style of art. Only three people can have the same artist
Topics
  • What inspires you? Unit, where students describe the things that inspire them to do art
  • Art history Unit, a brief but to the point unit where the students will learn about how art has been used to express themselves throughout the ages
  • Art around the world,
